Robert is a soul tsunami. I first saw him at the infamous Esplanade Hotel with his band The Mighty Reapers singing his heart out and doing splits, shimmies and spins. It felt like a baptism and I've been worshipping at the church of Continental Robert ever since. We've been duetting for a while now so dreams do come true. This is a Kelly Brothers song off a Southern Soul album he leant me. As soon as i heard it i wanted to sing it and then I knew this was the song we should do together, stripped waaaay back. I feel like we're out on the prairie. It's so lonesome it's good we're out there together and that we took Sam Lemann with us or i fear we'd have perished. it's a love song only the soul men can write, we've countrified it a bit and I hope that's okay with them.
